She-Ra has been on my heart and mind a lot this week.
Usually my heart and mind are reserved for people in my life, the hot beings on my spiritual team, ascended masters of the moment or my cat, not usually cartoon characters. But when the Goddess wants our attention, she’s gonna get it one way or another. For me, the Goddess is the divine feminine expressing herself in a way that we’re going to get. Spiritual books are full of info about the Goddess. About how to connect with her, about her various incarnations over time. The old Pagan and Celtic Goddesses like Brigid (one of my faves and she has not left me since Imbolc!). Then Christianity came along and changed the Goddess to Mother Mary and the female Saints. Whatever your belief system is, you will find female deities, Goddesses, Saints and Angels to connect with. I’m a huge believer that what we experience as Spirit Guides and Angels is energy. If you have a guide who needs your attention she/he/it is going to connect with you in a way that makes you get it. I will happily admit I am not incredibly well read when it comes to Ancient Goddesses archetypes, so for the Goddess to get my attention through Athena or Aphrodite would be really cool for sure, but not as powerful as when she gets my attention through She-Ra. The Goddess knows us. She knows I love pop culture and 80’s stuff. She remembers that I grew up watching She-Ra on the telly. She knows that in order for me to fully connect with my own inner Goddess that walking around thinking I’m She-Ra is going to be way more powerful for me than calling on Diana. No disrespect at all to the ancient Goddesses. Their energy is powerful AF. In fact, because they have been called upon and worked with for thousands of years their energy is MEGA. But the way I see it, Athena is no more or less the Goddess and the Divine Feminine than She-Ra. Or you (even if you're a dude), or me. Cool huh? I’ve gone through some funky energy lately. As I think we all have! The world is changing and there are times when it seems too hard, too much, too out of our zones of genius. I felt pretty freaking powerless a few weeks ago, and I’m not even joking when I say it was She-Ra’s energy that helped me to be able to jump back into my own 80’s power boots and keep walking the walk.
The other week I dedicated a day to self-love-self-care-filling-up. I turned on Netflix, and as soon as I saw She-Ra, my inner light did a little flip and sparked up again.
She-Ra is so not here just for me. She is here for us all. I believe (I hope!) we are moving back into an age in which the feminine and the masculine will be balanced. I feel like for so many of us this is part of our purpose here this time around, well, let’s face it we’ve probably been working on this for a heck of a long time, a lot of lifetimes. We are working towards a planet earth that is in balance. The Divine Feminine is no more or less important than the Divine Masculine. But because things are so crazy out of whack the Goddess is like - babes, dudes, we need to be majorly working in our Goddess power right now to help shift this earth back to balance. How we do that is totally up to us.
I’m absorbing as much of She-Ra’s golden light power and strength as I can, but I’m also hanging out with my gal Mother Mary on the daily and I’m also drawing on some Ancient Egyptian energy from a couple of my past lives in which I know I was in my power.
